Nutritional Therapy For Cancer Patients
Payment for nutritional therapy in the treatment of cancer shall be
considered valid under the following conditions:
- When it is given as a parallel treatment as a result of cancer or
chemotherapy, not when the therapy relies mainly on nutrition.
- When there is a report from the doctor that justified the treatment based
on the points above. The report should justify the treatment on the basis
that it is a result of the disease or the medical treatment.
- A $100 deductible shall be paid by the member since the nutritional
therapy is replacing basic diet and the patient would have to spend money
for food anyway.
- The maximum payment per month shall not exceed $200.00.
- Each such case must be presented to the Board of Trustees. This is a
benefit for members only.
