Nutritional Therapy For Cancer Patients

Payment for nutritional therapy in the treatment of cancer shall be considered valid under the following conditions:

  1. When it is given as a parallel treatment as a result of cancer or chemotherapy, not when the therapy relies mainly on nutrition.
  2. When there is a report from the doctor that justified the treatment based on the points above. The report should justify the treatment on the basis that it is a result of the disease or the medical treatment.
  3. A $100 deductible shall be paid by the member since the nutritional therapy is replacing basic diet and the patient would have to spend money for food anyway.
  4. The maximum payment per month shall not exceed $200.00.
  5. Each such case must be presented to the Board of Trustees. This is a benefit for members only.
