Hardship Cases

Unique hardship cases eligible for continuation of Fund benefits that fit the following criteria are:

  1. No paid leave is available to member.
  2. No other full-time employment is permitted.
  3. No other parallel benefit coverage is available.
  4. Member intends to return to the system.
  5. Limited to one year of coverage from date of authorization.
  6. Maternity leaves, study leaves, special leaves without pay, etc., are specifically excluded.
  7. Each such case must be presented to the Board of Trustees.
