Personal Options for Long-Term Care For several years we have been receiving requests for information concerning Long Term Care. Over the past several years, we have met sporadically with some providers. At first, it seemed that providers were tentative about offerings and some actually withdrew from the field. We did not feel that we could provide any recommendations on individual or group offerings. In the past five or six years the field has stabilized and the demand has increased. As a result, in consultation with our auditing firm, Heffler and Company, we have used the services of both Kistler Tiffany Benefits and Segal Company to assist us in soliciting bids, in comparing submissions, and in helping us to determine the best group coverage. Segal Company has been our consulting firm for many years. They function nationwide. Long Term Care Policies are subject to state laws and their offerings must be filed and approved in each state. Therefore, we decided to also rely heavily on Kistler Tiffany Benefits here in the area. Both Segal Company and Kistler Tiffany Benefits have been asked to solicit proposals for comparison. Kistler Tiffany Benefits compared the various plans and presented them to the H&W Trustees. Segal Company cannot offer assistance in local meetings and enrollment. Kistler Tiffany Benefits has a successful history of offering these services. Kistler Tiffany Benefits is an Independent Insurance provider. They are not owned by one carrier nor do they market certain products exclusively. They work only with A Rated or better carriers. Because of this independence, we are able to get an accurate picture in seeking the best program at the best price. These contacts work with our service staff to quickly resolve administrative issues and handle employee questions for you. Kistler Tiffany Benefits is experienced in evaluating proposed plans and implementation of such plans. Their benefits consultants work directly with the Fund to ensure the designed program meets the Fund's objectives. Through evaluation of the various plans, the insurance carriers and comprehensive market analysis, they coordinate and deliver the needed services.
