Plan Design

The selected plan design is very comprehensive. The plan supports and provides for care to be received in your home, an assisted living facility, adult day care center and a nursing care facility. More importantly, the plan provides you with choices. By providing a degree of choice, you will likely find a plan option that meets your needs, income, or risk tolerance levels. Our plan allows you to select from 3 daily benefit options, from 3 lifetime maximum factors, and from two inflation protection features.

Education Is the Key

Before you can truly determine if this new benefit has value for you or an extended family member - some education is needed. You may feel that the decision to purchase long-term care insurance should be made close to "retirement." This could be very costly to you and your family.

To assist you in evaluating your need for long-term care insurance; we attempted to identify key educational points for your consideration. Please review the points before you consider coverage for yourself, a spouse, or a family member.

What is Long-Term care?

Contrary to popular belief, long-term care coverage is not simply nursing facility care for the elderly. Long-term care includes a variety of services available to people who need assistance with the ordinary activities of daily living. Covered services can include help with grocery shopping, meal preparation, and/or housework.

Long-term care services can be provided on a temporary basis in your home to help expedite a recovery from a surgery or an accident. Or, services may be needed on a more permanent basis due to a stroke or Alzheimer's Disease. Covered services can range from assistance with dressing or bathing; to complete 24-hour monitored care.

Additionally, thanks to advances in medical technology and care delivery options, over 80% of all long-term care services are provided today in individual homes, assisted living facilities, adult day care, and adult foster care homes. Although nursing facility care is covered by the plan, there is no requirement to enter a nursing facility.

Recognizing that claimants desire to remain at home and as independent as possible, the plan contains several plan design features designed to help a policyholder remain in his/her home - the ideal care setting for most people.

What Are the Chances of Needing Care?
